This is Napa Chardonnay at its finest, coming from the Muir-Hanna Vineyard in the Oak Knoll District AVA (well-known as a source for the legendary Chateau Montelena).
On the nose, tart apple leads to a mellow floral note. At first sip, there is a rich, concentrated mouthfeel of subtle butterscotch, pineapple, and lemon curd with a touch of lingering minerality on the finish. This wine was barreled in 50% new French oak (but please don't let that scare you off - it's incredibly balanced and would never be confused with a "butter bomb"!).
Recommended Food Pairings: Meaty fish dishes like halibut or cod; lobster, crab, scallops, shrimp; lightly seasoned chicken and pork
Serving Temperature: 48°-52° (Chill for 30 minutes in the refrigerator prior to opening)
