Some recommendations if you are headed to the Breckenridge, Colorado area for a ski trip this season
and gift ideas for the wine-lovers on your list. Grab a glass of Claudine, sit back, relax, and enjoy! Cheers!

You might be confused by the beer in this pic. Let me explain.

Oftentimes, I enjoy a beer while crafting emails to you. Don’t judge! I drink things other than wine, you know, like beer. Water. Coffee. My favorite place to enjoy said beer is my favorite local brewery, Angry James. I can sit right in this spot watching it snow while writing emails to you, mostly likely enjoying a Pilsner or Kolsch. So, it got me thinking. I should share my favorite places with you! If you are coming to Summit County, Colorado (Breckenridge, Keystone, Copper, or A-Basin) for a ski trip this winter, here are my personal recommendations! There are tons of amazing places, but these are a few of my favorite things…

Best Wine Bar: Saved by the Wine. Started by two former ski instructors, this cozy wine bar will not disappoint! Excellent wine list and tapas to share! And, bonus!! The Claudine Wines Petit Verdot (label designed by a Colorado artist) will be in their winter wine flight!

Nice Dinner: Rootstalk or Hearthstone in Breckenridge. Will need reservations.

Drink a Beer with Locals: Angry James in Silverthorne. This email was actually sent to you while I was enjoying a Kolsch on a snowy Friday afternoon. The picture above shows evidence.

Best wine selection to buy and take back to your rental: Dillon Ridge Liquors. Ask for Mike, Sara, or Will…tell ‘em Anna sent ya! They are extremely knowledgeable and will help you with your selections, if you wish!

Best Wings: Canteen in Breck.

Best Ice Cream: Higgles in Breck. They make homemade waffle cones right there on the spot!

Best Bloody Mary: 6th Alley at Arapahoe Basin

Best views with a cocktail: Vue Rooftop in Dillon. It’s on top of the Homewood Suites. Just grab a drink here and take in the beauty of the frozen lake and snow-covered mountains.

Tequila lovers must check out Kúcu Tequila Bistro in Silverthorne. Over 200 tequilas on their wall!

Quirky and fun shopping: Marigold’s Farmhouse Funk and Junk in Breck.

Attractions other than skiing:

  • Extreme Sledding at Country Boy Mine (they just earned a Michelin star…yes, you can earn one without being a restaurant!) And don’t let the word “extreme” scare you away. It’s fun for the whole family. I did it, and I’m a chicken.

  • Bowling anyone? Elevation Bowl is the highest bowling alley in the world.

  • Hike to see the Troll in Breck. Park at the ice rink and it’s an incredibly short walk to see a huge troll made from sticks and things.

  • At Copper Mountain, grab a beer and a bite at one of the restaurants in Center Village and watch the experts go down the half-pipe!

  • Nordic Skiing on the golf course at Gold Run Nordic Center. And snowshoeing at the Breck Nordic Center. You might spot a moose!

Obviously, I love where I live and sharing my town with others. Explore the county and everything it has to offer. It’s only 30 minutes from one end to the other, so get out and see it all! Cheers to ski season!

*Disclaimer: I, Anna, am not receiving any kind of kickback from promoting these businesses to you. Simply sharing things I love. But, now, if Angry James wanted to pour me a beer on the house the next time I’m there crafting an email to you, I’d drink it.
