New York Finger Lakes Wine

I’m loving some of the Finger Lakes wines that I’ve tried recently. New York (and Colorado too!) are really making a name for themselves, especially with cooler climate wines. My go-to from Finger Lakes region, which I can always count on finding in my local wine shop, is Forge Cellars Dry Riesling. If you always trend towards Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio, give one of the dry Rieslings here a try. It’s a different wine of course, but I think you’ll be impressed.

Organic Wines: Past, Present, and Future

Whatever your philosophy on organic food and drink, it’s coming. And, it’s the way it used to be before pesticides came along (#realoldworld)! Even though our current wines are not certified organic, you can rest assured that the winemakers we deal with believe in being as minimally invasive as possible when creating a wine and letting the grapes speak for themselves. Certifying as organic is time-consuming and expensive, so it hasn’t necessarily been a priority for the smaller wineries we deal with. But, with California placing a ban on high-risk pesticides by 2050, it appears that all California winemakers will have to start letting the grapes speak for themselves soon!

The Costs of Wine

Have you ever heard of Quality-to-Price Ratio, also known as QPR?  We have!  In fact, that is the foundation of Claudine’s mission, to provide the wines with the highest QPR on the market.  Claudine’s roots run deep in Napa and Sonoma, and our love of the wines from these appellations will NEVER die.  But in keeping with our mission to offer the highest QPR wines on the planet, we have been quietly sampling wines from other regions in California, around the US, and even from other countries…stay tuned!

We wouldn’t be very good business folks if we didn’t tout our own wines at least once here. We have pretty spectacular QPR on all of our wines. So, read the article to learn, but also know and trust that this is the main focus here at Claudine Wines. Cheers to fine wine you can afford to open!
